→ What are the community’s rules
- Don’t Initiate Harm, Don’t commit Fraud, Don’t infringe on others social or economic freedoms.
- Any agreement fields accepted by all involved.
- Rules are derived from purpose and values as well as any external rules from governments in authoritative positions. In short, anything that opposes the health, happiness or success of the soil, individuals, the community or the world would be against “the rules”. Note regarding happiness, this means preventing their happiness, not necessarily doing things that make someone happy in the moment, like feeding an addiction would, rather it is about their long term happiness. Not giving someone ice cream won’t make them happy, but it’s also not preventing them from being fulfilled and when considering the effects of sugar on the body, it would be going against their health and success, which would negatively impact their overall happiness…

- The whole group that has gathered with clear intentions and agreements may hold someone accountable for misconduct or for irresponsible behavior, or negligence
- A process can be enacted and honored. If the member doesn’t honor the process, then they could lose currency and have no place to sleep, or if persists would have to leave right away. Since they are not renting, but accessing based on clear agreement fields, they would need to operate within that, or lose access and have an expired contract.
- In Holocracy, the rules are originally stated in the constitution and can be modified at governance meetings.
- We will be using purpose and values as opposed to rules, which are far easier for people to intuitively understand as opposed to rules which require memorization and often legal authorities to interpret. A more appropriate term might be accountabilities and responsibilities.
- Each role has accountabilities and responsibilities which role holders agree to. The other side of rules might be, space agreements, community agreements and culture codes.
- Culture codes are created by those holding space, space agreements are created by those who created the physical space, and community agreements are created at the founding of the community and can only be modified through governance, which all active and affected co-creators may participate.
