Not being clear about the common vision of the project.

Having a solid vision shows the world the core reason for your existence and helps to strengthen the culture and values of a project. Holistic World Vision's statement is as clear as 20/20.

Not understanding the importance of communication & decision making.

Ego and emotions can get in the way of a solution.  Our plan focuses on a self-governed decision making process to address the need for making clear, accessible agreements in writing.

Not ensuring equal access to power. 

 Making sure that every member of the community has equal rights is crucial.  People participate at different levels, yet still everybody need to have the same possibilities.  This is addressed by our Role based, non-hierarchical structure. 

Not choosing members intentionally.

New or small communities just cannot handle dysfunctional people, so having admission standards and criteria  are vital to the survival of the community. Having trial periods for those seeking entrance is to ensure that all parties are in alignment.

Not agreeing on a procedure/ how to deal with members who don’t comply.  Holding each other accountable for agreements made is vital for community longevity.  We aim to empower each individual by holding a neutral, safe space for conflict resolution throughout Holistic World Vision's "Common Unity."

Not being realistic about real life challenges. 

How much time and money will it take to establish? How is abundance distributed? What supportive infrastructure needs to be in place? Permits? What about member turnover?
